Wiley Rogers, LMFT

I'm a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist based in Berkeley, providing in-person therapy in the East Bay and telehealth throughout California.Whatever brings you here, my goal is to create a space where you can better understand what's happening, make sense of the patterns in your life, and work toward meaningful change.

Common areas of focus

People come to therapy for many different reasons. These are some of the areas I most commonly work with.

My Background

I earned my Master's in Counseling Psychology from the Wright Institute and have worked with adolescents, adults, and families in schools, community mental health, and private practice. Before opening Rising Tides Therapy, I worked at Bay Area Community Resources supporting students in local high schools, and later at TheraThrive, where I specialized in neurodiversity-affirming therapy with autistic, ADHD, and gifted clients. Before becoming a therapist, I had a lot of different jobs. I worked with organizations supporting people as they transitioned out of San Quentin Prison, helped run an arts collective, and spent years sailing and working on the San Francisco Bay. Those experiences gave me an appreciation for how different people's lives can look and reinforced the importance of meeting people where they are.Therapy has also been an important part of my own life. I know how powerful it can be to have someone really listen, help you untangle old patterns, and make space for change. That's the kind of relationship I hope to offer my clients.Outside the office, I enjoy sailing the Bay, making a good cup of coffee, and working on creative projects with friends.

Frequently Asked Questions

A few answers to questions I'm commonly asked.

Do you offer a free consultation?

Yes. I offer a complimentary 20-minute phone consultation so we can discuss what you're looking for, answer any questions, and see whether working together feels like a good fit.

What can I expect from the first session?

The first session is an opportunity for us to get to know each other. We'll explore what's bringing you to therapy, discuss your goals, and begin thinking together about a path forward. There's no pressure to have everything figured out before you arrive.

Do you offer in-person or virtual therapy?

Yes. I currently offer in-person therapy in Lafayette and telehealth throughout California. I'll also be moving into a new office in Berkeley soon.

Do you take insurance?

Yes. I accept several insurance plans through Alma. Please visit my Alma profile for the most up-to-date information about accepted plans and coverage.

What are your fees?

Individual therapy is $195 per 50-minute session. I also reserve a limited number of sliding-scale openings.

How often do we meet?

Most clients begin with weekly sessions. As therapy progresses, we may decide together that meeting every other week better supports your goals.

How do I get started?
